Bedbugs Might Carry MRSA New Research Suggests

As recently reported on Wichita’s NBC affiliate, KSN News, medical researchers in Vancouver discovered that bedbugs taken from three different hospital patients yielded MRSA or methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.

While bedbugs were carriers of the drug-resistant bacteria, it’s not clear if they can transmit it and cause MRSA infections.

This research is important because it shows that bedbugs are not just annoying pests, as originally thought, but could carry deadly bacteria.
